Lampeter Town v Llanelli Wanderers 27/01/07The roller-coaster ride continues as the Wanderers fell to another defeat by 25 points to 7 on Saturday. The disappointing aspect is that they were beaten by a very limited home side, which controlled the breakdown and tight exchanges, played a kicking game and relied on Wanderers errors, which were duly served up gifting some 17 points from poor defensive actions. With almost a full strength team taking the field supporters are at a loss as to why the teams form has dropped so drastically. There are not really a lot of positives that can be said about the game, as the Wanderers were very fortunate to go into half time only trailing by 7 points to 0. Spirits were lifted when they did get back into the game within 5 minutes of the restart with a well worked try from Karl Evans, converted from wide out by Daniel Rogers to level the scores, but apart from a 5 minute spell late in the game continued to be totally out thought by a home side who controlled the game and made the most of some atrocious defensive lapses by the Wanderers. With respect to the opposition, the Wanderers are greatly under-achieving at the moment and lets hope this can be the wake up call needed to at least finish the season playing the rugby they are more than capable of doing.
