Chairman's Welcome

A very warm welcome to Llanelli Wanderers R.F.C web site.  The 2005/06 season saw the club again play in Division Three West and it proved to be a big improvement on the 2004/05 season with the club  ending the season in 6th place winning 14 of our 26 matches

The coaching team  will again be Daniel Rogers and James Bannister, with Iwan Jones continuing as captain.  Due to building a new house Barrie Davies steps down as our Director of Rugby on a temporary basis and his place has been taken by Andrew 'Kato' Jenkins who announced his retirement from the game at the end of last season.

We have again been able to recruit some new players over the summer months and with the team having had the experience of playing at the higher level I am sure that the coming season will be far more successful than last year.  I'm sure you will join me in wishing them well.

You will see from the literature within the menu that we, as a rugby community, are a very ambitious and diverse organisation catering for the playing development and enjoyment of both male and female members.  Our Club motto is “Cyfeilliach Trwy Grwydio” which translates to “Friendship through Wandering” and it is with this approach of encouraging young people to be both competitive and make life long friendships that is the success DNA of our Rugby Club.

Formed in 1951 we have just reached our half century and look forward to the coming years with confidence in so much as we as an amateur organisation have the correct methodology and structure to combat all the issues that the recent professional era in Wales has presented.

Mini, junior, youth and senior male teams are available for choice and all teams are supported by qualified coaching staff and a very committed group of parents whose personal contributions have been of the highest level.

The mini and junior organisations have WRU recognition as the rugby development centre within our area and boast the second largest attended tournament for these age groups in UK, attracting regional, country and international teams to their annual events.

So it is with this brief introduction that I leave you to browse through our web menu and hope that it will encourage you to find more about our organisation and we would welcome any support or opportunity of your becoming members of our vibrant Rugby Club
